This is where you will see the REAL Diois! A meeting point for regular market-goers and local producers, colourful, lively and generous.
Going to the market means living at a different rhythm, far from the routine of supermarket shopping. So, fill up your baskets with goat cheese (picodon), a sparkling Clairette de Die, walnuts and fragrant walnut oil, lamb raised on our mountain pastures, lavender honey, a sun-drenched bottle of wine, little squares of fresh ravioles, red fruit juice and jam, characterful artisan beer, wood-fired oven bread, organic fruit and vegetables, natural cosmetics, aromatic plant infusions, etc.
Die Market
Die market is a large one and brings the town centre to life. Over 120 stall holders await you (not quite as many in winter). You can buy fruit and vegetables, local charcuterie and cheeses, meat and fish – but also jewellery and textiles. The colourful stalls will attract your eye and the food will stimulate your appetite.
This is a lively market and you may well hear the strains of music! Put down your basket, take a seat at one of the cafés and soak up the special atmosphere of this market.

Châtillon-en-Diois market
In the pretty village of Châtillon-en-Diois, listed as one of the most attractive villages in France, around 20 traders (many more in summer) come and join their local colleagues on the Champs de Foire. They sell local produce and craft products.

La-Motte-Chalancon market
The Provencal market of La-Motte-Chalancon adapts itself to the seasons. In summer, around 70 stall holders come and enlarge the the smaller winter market: goat cheese, fruit and vegetables, Clairette de Die, olives from Nyons and local wines – a real Provencal market!

The other Diois markets

The traders put their 100% local produce on sale. What a feast! And once you have done your shopping you can go up and visit the site of the Claps.
At Lus-la-Croix-Haute on Sunday and Wednesday mornings (only in the summer)The village square is the locale for this little weekly market which swells in summer with the presence of a few craft stalls.
At Saint-Nazaire-le-Désert on Friday morningsRegular customers make their way to the little Saint Nazaire market to share the simple pleasure of having a chat somewhere between the vegetable and the butcher-charcutier stalls.
The arrival of summer witnesses the flourishing several more markets add to the scene during the day or in the evening. These are events which are a shame to miss, with their 100% Diois atmosphere! Check the events diary.
